The Gramercy Theatre is perfect. Our special little corners of New York City that somehow makes every night feel like a main character moment. Tucked right in the middle of the buzz, the bustle, and the absolute Broadway chaos of Manhattan, it’s the go-to spot for lovers of niche events, deep cuts, and dance-heavy nights that just won’t quit. So whether you’re just dipping a toe in to the local scene for the first time or you basically have a chair in the balcony written with your initials on it — we’re glad you're here with us. We can’t wait to see you here. And we highly suggest you clear your Friday plans, because on August 22nd, the Gramercy is transforming into a full-blown, musical-theater-meets-dance-floor dreamscape thanks to one very important night:the  Broadway Rave.

What is Broadway Rave, you ask? Well it’s only the most absurdly fun and CRAZY event we’ll go to all summer. Created in 2023 by Burwood Media, AKA the guys who made Emo Night Brooklyn™, Gimme Gimme Disco, Gasolina, and other themed parties. It was created by co‑founders Ethan Maccoby and Alex Badanes, longtime friends who bonded over musicals and emo in school and dreamed of crafting a space where Broadway lovers could party together. The night consist of a playlist of musical numbers playing in the background. This is a full-on glittery, costumed, confetti-blasted love letter to Broadway in the form of a high-energy dance party. Think: you and your best friends scream-singing Defying Gravity, waving your arms during Seasons of Love, and getting way too emotional in the middle of the crowd when the Newsiestrack hits. The DJ is spinning nothing but Broadway bangers all night long — and yes, we’ll all be wearing our favorite character-inspired outfits and decor so you should go as bold as possible..

This is the kind of night where theater kids, karaoke ringers, ensemble stans, and mainstage leads all come together under one disco ball. And even though the Broadway Rave has been traveling around the country to sold-out crowds everywhere from Austin to San Francisco, we have to say: nothing hits harder than a show in the center of the big city. The birthplace of Broadway itself. The place where these songs live. And for one night, that magic jumps off the stage and right into the crowd.

So - assemble the squad. Dust off the old playbills in the basement, and come ready to lose your voice from singing too hard. It’s Broadway. It’s a rave. It’s Broadway Rave — and it’s going down right here at Gramercy Theatre on August 22nd. We’ll see you there. Curtain up, lights on, let’s dance.
